Personnel change at Mercedes-Benz Trucks: Christian Wilz (42) will take over as Head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks in Germany from 1 January 2024. He succeeds Joachim Schlereth (61), who will retire at the end of the year. In his new role, Wilz will be responsible for the sales and service of trucks of the Mercedes-Benz and Fuso brands in Germany.
Christian Wilz joined the former Daimler Group in 2002 and, after completing his dual studies in 2005, started as a salesman for commercial vehicles in the own retail dealership in Frankfurt/Offenbach. Since 2008, he has worked in various management positions at Daimler Mobility AG, where he took on a wide range of tasks in the commercial vehicle field. In his current role, he has been responsible for sales and integrated customer solutions in Europe and South America at Daimler Truck Financial Services since 2021.

Joachim Schlereth, currently Head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Sales and Services Germany, will retire at the end of this year as planned. He has been with the Group since 1989 and has since held various management positions with a focus on the commercial vehicle business. Together with his teams, Schlereth has been extremely successful in strategically and operationally aligning the corporate units assigned to him over the past thirty years. Among other things, he introduced CharterWay rental in Germany, served as Managing Director of Taunus Auto Verkaufs-GmbH (Group subsidiary) as well as Own Retail Branch Responsible and Own Retail Sales Director Commercial Vehicles Bavaria.
