Diamond Line, COSCO SHIPPING Europe’s short-sea and feeder carrier, and Tarros Group are starting a new fast short-sea service from Alexandria, Egypt and Piraeus, Greece to Algiers, Algeria, and vice versa from June 2024.
The joint weekly service is based on two 1.000 TEU vessels: MV Contship Ivy, the first vessel of the new PAE weekly service is expected to depart from Alexandria on 28th June and scheduled to arrive in Algiers on 4th July.
“The new PAE service will further strengthen Diamond Line’s network in the Mediterranean, and the Maghreb region in particular.
COSCO SHIPPING and Diamond Line have serious ambitions to grow in North African markets to support their local businesses and economies. With an estimated 6 million inhabitants, the metropolitan region of Algiers has great economic prospects and will benefit from our new service.
PAE will fill a missing link and grant our clients access to COSCO SHIPPING’s “Three Networks”: water transportation, rail transportation, and Warehousing and Distribution network”, adds HU Hua, Managing Director Diamond Line GmbH.
The rotation of PAE service is as follows: Alexandria, El Dhekelia (ACCHCO) – Piraeus PCT – Algiers – Alexandria, El Dhekelia (ACCHCO).
