The 60th Moskva-2020 train with new linear wayfinding displays has been delivered to the Moscow Metro. Displays above the doors show the information on exits and interchanges, the car number and the remaining time before arrival at the station.
Now 34 trains with an updated wayfinding displays are running on the metro Line 5 (Circle Line). There are also 11 trains on the Line 6 and 15 trains on the Big Circle Line (BCL).
In the future, it is planned to equip all Moskva-2020 trains with the new system.
“We develop passenger services for the convenience of travel in urban transport. We launched the first Moskva-2020 trains with improved linear wayfinding in autumn 2022. It shows which car the passengers are in, arrival time to the next station, as well as information on exits and interchanges. In total, 60 Moskva-2020 trains were equipped with improved wayfinding”, said Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Transport.
The first trains with new wayfinding system were launched on the metro Line 5 in October last year.
The innovative Moskva-2020 train is the most modern Moscow Metro train model. In 2021, the model won the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021 for the best design. The international jury unanimously gave it the highest rating in the Trains and Planes category.
